What happened in Shechem was that the armored bus approach was used, and that permission for yeshiva students to live there was denied. Not surprisingly, things deteriorated very quickly, simply because not enough Jews were hanging around. Eventually an Arab mob burned this historical Jewish site to the ground.

OLMERT!! -- to speak at the rally, which is sort of like inviting someone from the Chevra Kadisha to speak at a conference for cancer patients. Shraga has indicated that in a democracy, Olmert is entitled to speak. Well of course he is -- and similarly, it is the democratic privilege of anyone who is going to the rally, to just slip a whistle into his pocket so that s/he can exercise her or his freedom of expression while Olmert speaks (if he actually does). So please -- BRING A WHISTLE. If you don't have one, bring a cooking pot and a big spoon.
