<p dir="ltr" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">President Peres has agreed to consider a special clemency request for these brothers; it is believed that Peres will agree that justice has not been done by sending these volunteer security officers to prison for something they never did. However, Peres's office called the brothers and told them that the clemency proceeding requires 6 months; the office asked whether they had filed in court for a 6-month deferral of their sentence. The brothers filed this request, which is the standard request, in the Jerusalem District Court. However, inexplicably, this court has yet to decide upon this request -- no time has been found in the court's schedule to do so!! This is a familiar trick in other contexts -- petitions to the Bagatz on release of terrorists have been scheduled for AFTER the terrorists were released, etc. </span></font></p>
