Knesset Chairman and longtime Likud MK Ruby Rivlin is truly a Zionist, but in the past he has sometimes "missed the ball". For example, in the past Rivlin agreed to pardon Barghouti, the terror leader (sorry: peace visionary) convicted of murdering 5 and moral responsibility for many more: <font size="1"><</font><a href="http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=795009%20&contrassID=2&subContrassID=15&sbSubContrassID=0&listSrc=Y" target="_blank"><font size="1"><u>http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=795009%20&contrassID=2&subContrassID=15&sbSubContrassID=0&listSrc=Y </u></font></a><font size="1">></font>. Rivlin also hired Nurit Elstein, <a href="http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/90179" target="_blank"><font size="1"><u>http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/90179</u></font></a> the Knesset legal advisor infamous among other things for not managing to find any legal method by which the Knesset could avoid continuing to pay benefits to an Arab MK who fled the country to avoid being indicted for treason (helping Hizbullah fire rockets at Israel during the Lebanon 2 war). <a href="http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3571270,00.html" target="_blank"><font size="1"><u>http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3571270,00.html</u></font></a></font></div>

However, the Hebrew language newspaper Makor Rishon TODAY published two new findings about the background of Mr. Yinon<font face="Arial (Hebrew), sans-serif">.</font></font></div>
<div dir="rtl"><font face="Arial, sans-serif" color="#ff0000" size="2">First, Mr. Yinon was found by the paper's <font color="#0000ff"> </font>investigative journalist<font color="#0000ff"> </font> to be responsible for the infamous Religious Council appointments of Mr. Omri Sharon. These iffy appointments were a disgusting circumvention of true democratic process, involving appointments of newbie Likud Central Committee members to well paying Religious Council jobs <a href="http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:SKf_n72JPtAJ:www.mizrachi.org/ideas/view.asp%3Fid%3D195+omry+Sharon+religious&cd=8&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=il" target="_blank"><font color="#0000ff" size="1"><u>http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:SKf_n72JPtAJ:www.mizrachi.org/ideas/view.asp%3Fid%3D195+omry+Sharon+religious&cd=8&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=il</u></font></a> in order to buy enough pro-Sharon votes, in the Likud Central Committee, to torpedo the long-time Likud vehement opposition to Sharon's disengagment plan<font size="1">. </font>Also, Mr. Yinon was discovered to be the administrator responsible, on behalf of Prime Minister Sharon's office, for finding ways to blow up the Gush Katif synagogues. This barbaric proposal was strongly opposed by Jews abroad and even by those legislators who supported the Gush Katif disengagement plan. </font></div>

Surely when appointing its legal advisor, you will succeed in finding any number of alternative candidates whose convictions are more conducive to the democratic process than Mr. Yinon's seem to be.
