 *THREE FOR THE PRICE OF ONE (ABU MAZEN, HEBRON, AND OLMERT GOV'T)*

Here is Mattot Arim's latest initiative -- we need a little help from you,
though.
We have petitioned the State Comptroller (Mevaker haMedina) take a critical
look at the functioning of the Olmert government, using a small but
very revealing example: a comparison of the government's reactions to (a)
Abu Mazen's "point all guns at Israel" speech vis a vis (b) the Tel Rumeida
neighbors' quarrel. The 2 occurred in the same week; the first and
major event was ignored by the government whereas the second, trivial event
was discussed at length by our ministers and resulted in a special committee
with a 4-minister membership. We thank Dr. Aaron Lerner, founder of IMRA
and a longtime advisor and activist in Matteh Raanana for initiating this
idea.

This initiative was selected because it achieves 3 important objectives in
one:
(a) Highlighting Abu Mazen's crucial "point all guns at Israel" speech which
government and press are doing their best to ignore -- to this day
(b) Exposing the poor quality of the Olmert government
(c) Helping the beleagured Hebron Jewish community: Does our gov't really
think that the only place in the world that neighbors scream at each other
is Hebron???

neglected Abu Mazen speech on the government's agenda.
