1. Hi folks, thank you for reading our original email earlier today and
calling and faxing the Members of Knesset. You can stop telephoning and
faxing now!! Our feedbacks indicate that enough calls and faxes have been
made so no need to make any more. We thank you once again!!

2. What DOES need to be done, is to call the police and army and express
your support for the march to Homesh which is on for today (Tuesday). Here
are the numbers:

Talking points:

a. "As a mother of a soldier, I think that..."

b. "The settlers were right about the hitnatkut and the country was dead
wrong -- so why are you guys against the settlers??"

c. "In a democratic country, the police and army are supposed to fight the
enemy -- not against their own people!!"

d. "The army and police should not be involved in politics, you are supposed
to fight crime and terror, not get involved in politics"

Remember -- public pressure DEFINITELY works!! Each phone call or fax saves
some poor kid from getting beaten up - or hauled off to jail -- for breaking
a contraversial and mistaken law (the Hitnatkut law) which simply should not
be enforced. Help our young people, get these calls and faxes done now. And
YES, it's OK to use these telephone and fax numbers, they are intended to be
civilian numbers i.e. they do not disrupt the work of the police or army.

*דחוף - הצילו את החוק למען סגירת תיקי** המפגינים הכתומים*

*Urgent! Save the Law for Closing Criminal Cases against Orange
Demonstrators!!** *

 דחוף!! הצילו את "החוק לביטול התיקים הפליליים נגד המפגינים הכתומים"!!

על פי נתונים רשמיים של הפרקליטות והמשטרה שפורסמו בכנסת לפני כשבועיים, למעלה
מ-1500 מפגינים כתומים -- אזרחים למופת  לרבות לוחמים רבים ביחידות קרביות
-  עדיין עומדים לדין, או מוכתמים ברישומים "פליליים" במשטרה, בגלל הפגנות
שונות בתקופת ההתנתקות.   החוק לביטול התיקים הפליליים הללו זוכה לתמיכה של
חברי כנסת רבים - גם משמאל.

אבל אולמרט בכל זאת הצליח לשכנע את חברי הקואליציה לעשות "תרגיל":

היום פתאום אנחנו שומעים, שחברי הכנסת מהקואליציה התומכים בחוק "לא יוכלו"
להצביע בעדו אם החוק לא יעבור קודם "ועדת שרים לענייני חקיקה" שמתכנסת רק בשבוע
הבא.

המשמעות: בשבוע הבא הרי אין הצבעות (זה שבוע אחרון לפני פגרת הכנסת) אז נצטרך
לחכות עם החוק עד לאחר פגרת הכנסת (כלומר: עד אחרי החגים.)

*את התרגיל הזה עלינו למנוע. מדוע?*

*א. אין שום הצדקה לעוד כמה חודשים של התעללות משפטית בלתי מוצדקת!!!*

*ב. בפוליטיקה מה שלא מתבצע היום -- לא מתבצע אף פעם. (ולכן אולמרט עושה את
התרגיל...) *

איך לפעול?

להפציר בחברי הכנסת הימניים מהקואליציה, בנימוס רב, לנהוג בגבורה, לא לשתף
פעולה עם התרגיל של אולמרט:

*שידרשו*  * שהקואליציה לא תתנגד לחוק, - זה ייתן למעשה  חופש הצבעה*. ו*שיגיעו
- ויצביעו*

מתי? מייד!! * היום (יום שני), הערב, הלילה ולכל המאוחר מחר (יום שלישי) בבוקר*

URGENT KNESSET UPDT

Tomorrow and the next day (Tuesday and Wednesday) there will be the vote on
the law which will close the ridiculous criminal cases against 1500 Orange
demonstrators.

"Halevai" that the actions of the Orange demonstrators, in perhaps blocking
traffic for a few moments or in possibly spontaneously pushing a policeman
to prevent him from improperly beating up someone, and so forth, should be
the Israel's justice system's main problem (what happened to rape, drugs,
traffic accidents, terror attacks, family violence, and organized crime??).

Good news: The law is widely supported by many Knesset members on left and
on right. The main problem is, though, that Olmert is pressuring some of the
law's supporters, so we need to call these MKs *RIGHT NOW --** or this
evening, or latest tomorrow morning (Tuesday morning)* in order to very
politely ask them to please vote FOR the law tomorrow and the next day.
Please specifically say that you heard that Olmert is doing a "targil
parliamentari" aimed to push off the vote until after the chagim (by that
time, Olmert will think of another excuse to put it off even more...) and
ask each MK not to let Olmert do that. Do not *let* the MKs persuade you
that actually the above is not the factual situation. Keep insisting,
pleasantly of course, that you are absolutely sure that the right thing to
do is to vote for this law tomorrow (in the Vaadat haKnesset) and the next
day (in the Knesset melia=plenary).
