 כרבנים הראשיים לישראל - התבקשתם לאשר בדחיפות קיום מיסות (תפילות נוצריות)
רשמיות ציבוריות  בקבר דוד המלך בהר ציון בירושלים.

התבקשתם לאשר זאת דחוף לפני ביקור האפיפיור -- שהרי יש בישראל חופש דת. *ברצוני
להעיר*:

א. חופש דת יש בהרבה מדינות. אך האם האפיפיור היה מסכים מייד ובחדווה, אילו
מאות או אלפי יהודים היו דורשים פתאום לקיים הקפות שניות או קריאת מגילה או כל
טקס המוני אחר, *ב**קפלה* *הסיסטינית ברומא!? *

*ב. לנוצרים יש כבר מקום קדוש  בהר ציון  בסמיכות לקבר דוד המלך:  כניסית
הדורמיציון!!*

ג. *לפני *שתחליטו - אנא בקשו ממזכיר הממשלה *הבהרות*: מה נעשה *עד כה*, כש-2
דתות טענו לאותו מקום קדוש??
למשל -  הר הבית הוא מקום קדוש ליהדות וגם (על פי הנטען) לווקף המוסלמי. האם
ממשלת ישראל מאפשרת תפילות יהודיות ציבוריות בהר הבית? ואם לא, אז מה פתאום
לאשר תפילות נוצריות בקבר דוד המלך?!

אשמח להתיחסות כב' במייל חוזר, בכבוד רב, (לחתום עם שמך המלא)

You, the Chief Rabbis of Israel, have been asked to authorize  *religious
Catholic ceremonies ("mass") at the resting place of King David *on Mount
Zion in Jerusalem.  Until now, Christians visited the site only as
tourists. If you allow mass rites  - to please the Pope who is on his way
here  – this automatically changes the status of the site symbolically.


Please do not authorize this. Israel's commitment to freedom of religion is
as strong as any other country's. But the cardinals in Rome (or England)
would never give a nod of approval if Jews were to suddenly demand to hold *Yom
Kippur shofar blowing in the Sistine Chapel* or *megilla readings in
Westminster Abbey*!! Note also that Christianity *already has* a holy site
on Mount Zion, right next to the resting place of King David!

 Instead of rushing to give the ok, please first ask the Prime Minister for
MORE INFORMATION. The main question is: what is customary here in Israel,
in OTHER sites which are claimed to be holy by 2 different religions??  For
example, the Temple Mount is sacred to the Jews and reportedly also to the
Islamic Wakf - can the Prime Minister send the Chief Rabbinate a detailed
description of whether and how Jewish prayer ceremonies are held at Temple
Mount? And if Jewish prayer ceremonies are NEVER held at the Temple Mount -
why should the Chief Rabbinate suddenly approve Christian prayer ceremonies
at King David's resting place??
