בקרוב יתמנה יועץ משפטי חדש למשרד החוץ. עליו לדעת להדוף טענות שקריות בדבר “אי חוקיות ההתנחלויות” כביכול, הצפויות במסגרת המאבקים המדיניים הקרובים לבוא באו"ם, בארה"ב, ובאירופה.

אך יש בעיה: יתכן כי רק עובדי משרד החוץ יורשו להגיש את מועמדותם למשרת היועץ המשפטי במשרד החוץ. קוראים לזה “מכרז פנימי”.

מדוע זה רע? כי במשרד החוץ יש הרבה אנשי שמאל -- ומעט משפטנים (המשרד קטן).

שניהם לא יכולים וגם לא רוצים להגן על חוקיות ההתיישבות היהודית ביהודה ושומרון!
בעיה זו תיפתר, רק  אם שר החוץ  נתניהו וסגניתו ציפי חוטובלי יקבלו הרבה דואר מהציבור... אז הנה מכתב לדוגמא שתוכל/י לכתוב (ואנא, העבר את המייל הזה, גם לאנשים אכפתיים אחרים שאינם ברשימת התפוצה שלנו):

אז – מדוע הממשלה הלאומית שבניהולכם, לא תמנה למשרד החוץ, יועץ משפטי שמכיר בחוקיותם של יישובי יהודה ושומרון? מסיבה זו אבקש שתקיימו מכרז “חיצוני” ליועץ המשפטי למשרד החוץ. יש הרבה מועמדים טובים, פייטרים, מקרב משפטני ישראל,  אך כל עוד המכרז נשאר “פנימי" – אסור למשפטנים הטובים הללו להתמודד!

Yes, "Oy vey" will exactly describe Israel's situation, if the Foreign Ministry's upcoming legal advisor is someone who is not willing to defend Israel against the most crucial lawfare attack of all -  "illegality of settlements".

Re: New Legal Advisor ("Yoetz Mishpati")
Dear PM and Foreign Minister Mr. Netanyahu, Deputy Minister Hotovely, Foreign Affairs C'tee Chair Hanegbi, and MFA Director-general Mr. Dore Gold,
Of course you and I know the "settlements" in Judea and Samaria are legal. A renowned dean of the No. 1 law school  in the United States of America has stated this long ago (Prof. Eugene Rostow, late dean of Yale Law School: http://digitalcommons.law.yale.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=3031&context=fss_papers). "Illegal settlement" attacks are simply part of the lawfare against Israel.
But Israel needs a legal advisor who can point this out. Why choose your new legal advisor from among 2 candidates who cannot bring themselves to defend legality of settlements due to their personal political beliefs? Please urgently notify Israel's legal community that ANY legal expert may apply for the position of "yoetz mishpati" (legal advisor) to the Foreign Ministry – not just the handful of mostly leftwing lawyers employed by the Foreign Ministry.
