  *קבר רחל -- האם נאבד גם אותו, בגלל טפשות שלטונית??*

1. היום, ובימים הקרובים, ייקבע הסטטוס של קבר רחל - בעידן החומה.

2. החומה הבטחונית המכוערת ליד קבר רחל -- הושלמה כעת.

3. לכן עלינו לפנות *מייד* למשטרה ולדרוש שיווצרו במקום הקדוש הזה, הסדרי
תפילה טובים, ולא הסדרי תפילה רעים ומסוכנים. הסדר תפילה טוב פרושו: כמו בכותל
המערבי ובמערת המכפלה. הסדר רע פרושו: כמו שהיה בקבר יוסף לפני שנשרף,
לצערנו, ע"י ההמון הפלשתיני.

4. הסדר טוב כולל 2 מרכיבים:
* גישה חופשית במכוניות פרטיות וברגל, גם בימי חול וגם בשבתות וחגים,  עם כל
הכבוד, לא נסכים להיות תלויים באוטובוסים ממוגנים של אגד כדי להגיע לקבר רחל
שהוא 5 דקות מירושלים!!
* מגורים במקום לתלמידי ישיבת קבר רחל. בגלל בניית החומה אסרו על תלמידי הישיבה
לגור במקום, אמרו  להם ללמוד שם רק ביום וללון בלילה במקום אחר. כעת שהושלמה
החומה, צריך להזכיר למשטרה שזכותם של תלמידי הישיבה לגור במתחם קבר רחל, גם
בלילה וגם בשבתות, כי זהו מקום שהוא קדוש לעם היהודי לא רק ביום כי אם גם
בלילה. מקום שבו יהודים לא גרים -- הנסיון מלמד, שהם גם לא מצליחים להתפלל
בו.... (שוב -- תקדים קבר יוסף בשכם).

5. נא להתקשר *מייד* ללשכת אילן פרנקו (מפקד מחוז ירושלים) ולדרוש *מייד* את
הנ"ל כדי שהוא יבין שזו דרישת העם ולא דרישה של כמה משוגעים לדבר. טל.

6. כדאי מאד גם לבקר בימים הקרובים בקבר רחל. אחר הכל -- חודש אלול כעת. סעו
לשכונת הר חומה ומשם תתקדמו, אם יהיו לכם קשיים התקשרו למספר הנ"ל, הביעו תדהמה
ובקשו עזרה מיידית.

* כזכור יש עצרת במוצאי שבת בתל-אביב שמטרתה: לדרוש ועדת חקירה ממלכתית. כצפוי
-- אליעד שרגא (הג'ינג'י מהתנועה לאיכות השלטון) "עשה תרגיל" למילואימניקים
והזמין לפתע את מקורבו, אהוד אולמרט, לנאום בעצרת.

* זהו דפוס פעולה קבוע של אליעד: פעם עשה כנס נגד שחיתות שלטונית וגם לשם
הזמין, חה חה חה, את מקורבו אולמרט  - שזה בערך כמו להזמין את החברא קדישא לכנס
של חולי הסרטן.

* לכן: מי שמחליט להגיע לעצרת של המילואימניקים ואליעד שרגא - שיביא איתו
משרוקית כדי שיוכל לקבל את פניו של אולמרט אם זה יבוא.


*Rachel's Tomb*
We have an urgent problem at Rachel's Tomb at the moment. The "security"
wall has just been completed there, and the new arrangements for prayer are
NOW being determined by the Jerusalem Region Police. Kindly immediately
call, before the ink dries on the relevant government papers, and pleasantly
ask for the following two crucial things:

First, there must be access with private cars and by foot, both on weekdays
and on Shabat and holidays. It is not enough to have armored busses going
back and forth. That would not create the right atmosphere at all.

Second, the students of the Kever Rachel Yeshiva need police permission to
live at the Yeshiva as all yeshiva students do. Up till now, because the
"security" wall (a true monstrosity) was being built, the Yeshiva students
were only allowed to be in  the Kever Rachel compound during the day.

If the Police Commander's office (02-5391100 tel,  02-5391466 fax) don't
seem to understand your reasoning, explain that Rachel's Tomb needs to be
like the Kotel and Mearat haMachpela in Hebron -- and NOT like Joseph's Tomb
(Kever Yosef) in Schechem. What happened in Shechem was that the armored bus
approach was used, and that permission for yeshiva students to live there
was denied. Not surprisingly, things deteriorated very quickly, simply
because not enough Jews were hanging around. Eventually an Arab mob burned
this historical Jewish site to the ground.


*It Would Be Funny If It Weren't So Sad*
You really need a sense of humor to live in Israel. You know that there is a
rally in Kikar Rabin on Saturday night -- to call for a committee of inquiry
about the mishandling of the war. It now turns out

lawyer who runs the "Movement for Quality Government", has  suddenly invited
-- guess who? OLMERT!! -- to speak at the rally, which is sort of like
inviting someone from the Chevra Kadisha to speak at a conference for cancer
patients. Shraga has indicated that in a democracy, Olmert is entitled to
speak. Well of course he is -- and similarly, it is the democratic privilege
of anyone who is going to the rally, to just slip a whistle into his pocket
so that s/he can exercise her or his freedom of expression while Olmert
speaks (if he actually does). So please -- BRING A WHISTLE. If you don't
have one, bring a cooking pot and a big spoon.
